Hello all. So within the last year, one of the high schools in my conference was the victim of the Redskin debate. They were the Redskins, then the town voted to change their name. The final three options were Gladiators, Wolfpack (my favorite) and RedHawks. The school wide vote went for the RedHawks and the rebrand began.
This is the logo they came up with. It is the most modern of all the ones in our conference, but unfortunately it looks like a mental chicken. So I have decided to try my hand at a logo tweak. 
Here is my sketch. It's just a rough thing I threw together in about 10 minutes. Wanted to pick all of your brilliant brains about the design before I made it digital. Here it is.
